waiting to be found

When we are searching for something, needing something
Why does it always feel just past your fingertips?
We can see it, in our dreams and thoughts, but we cannot feel it.
We say a small prayer, whispering coming from our lips.

We can see the shadow far away on the horizon.
We long for the days, the hours, the minutes.
We know the journey is long, we know the journey is far.
We start to worry, we know there are limits.

We wake up from that dream, startled and searching.
We are looking and wondering where was the sound.
We find nothing because nothing is lost.
Simply because we are waiting to be found.
